Housing and Neighbourhoods
This theme is concerned with housing and residential environments: where people choose to live, the housing they can access, and the qualities of their neighbourhoods. One project will build on existing work in the private rental sector, continuing the work with SPICe and CaCHE exploring the re-growth of private renting and the impacts of recent regulatory changes in Scotland in particular. Another strand will examine wider impacts on neighbourhood amenity and activity from investment in local transport infrastructure and related streetscaping works. As the centre moves forward it is expected that other strands of work will also be developed to exploit new sources of big data.
