Glasgow City Council Over-65 Falls Data 2011-2015

The dataset provides information about falls among people 65 and older. The data covers Glasgow City Council area for years ending 31 March 2011-2015. Data is provided by 2011 datazones. The data was purchased from Information Services Division (ISD) Scotland (part of NHS National Services Scotland) by UBDC for the collaborative project “Supporting independent living through the prediction and prevention of falls” between UBDC and Glasgow City Council. The data comes from two main sources:

• Scottish Morbidity Records (SMR01 – General / Acute Inpatient and Day Case). Data is based on year of discharge from hospital. Population data is from National Records of Scotland (NRS). More on SMR 01 http://www.ndc.scot.nhs.uk/Data-Dictionary/SMR-Datasets//SMR01-General-Acute-Inpatient-and-Day-Case/

• Unscheduled Care Datamart (UCD) – The UCD is populated by data from a variety of services. These data come from NHS 24 and the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS).
